VISTA RIDGE MALL TO SERVE AS AIRCRAFT HANGAR FOR ONE MONTH
Dallas, TX – Christmas shoppers at Vista Ridge Mall will have a couple of extra
gifts to consider this year. US Aviation of Denton is placing a Light Sport
Aircraft, called a REMOS GX, in the Lewisville mall, just north of Dallas,
November 25th through December 27th. Along with the
aircraft they will be selling gift certificates for Discovery Flights, flying
lessons and partnerships for aircraft ownership.
While it will be possible to buy the airplane in the mall for $140,000…with a
large red ribbon, most people these days are opting for partial ownership. In a
sense the partners create their own small flying club and share in the purchase
price, maintenance costs and hangar fees. The savings can be formidable. US
Aviation will have representatives on hand while the mall is open to explain the
methods for setting up partnerships.
Perhaps the most appealing aviation gift will be the Discovery Flight gift
certificates. Normally priced at $80, they will be on sale for only $40 on Black
Friday, November 27th. All other days they will be available for $60.
They make great stocking stuffers. Businessmen and women find they make a very
favorable impression on their colleagues.
A lot of people are surprised to learn that it’s possible to become a licensed
pilot with only 20 hours of flying lessons. With the Federal Aviation
Administration’s new Sport Pilot category, some people are earning their license
in only two weeks.
“When we did this in a mall over a long weekend last summer we encountered a
wide range of reactions,” said the event organizer, Justin Shelley. “Some people
were stopped in their tracks when they saw the airplane in the mall. It’s a
rather uncommon sight, but the reactions ranged from ho-hum to ‘You’ve got to be
kidding!’ Kids loved it and that makes it fun to bring aviation to the people.”
